Vibration Therapy

Image of Jean-Martin Charcot’s 1892 Vibration Chair for Parkinson’s

Pictured above is the vibration chair that Dr. Charcot  used to treat his patients who had the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.  Dr. Charcot never actually published any findings from his preliminary research. The idea was abandoned after his death in 1893. Charcot is credited with first using the name “Parkinson’s” to the symptoms associated with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease today.
